Footloose The Musical Audition Form

City Kids Theatre by Davin Griffiths-Jones is thrilled to announce the auditions for our upcoming production of Footloose! This exhilarating musical, inspired by the 1984 film, tells the story of Ren McCormack, a teenager who moves to a small town where dancing and rock music have been banned. With infectious energy and vibrant choreography, Footloose celebrates the spirit of youth, freedom, and self-expression. 

This is your chance to shine on stage! We welcome performers of all backgrounds and experience levels to audition for the ensemble and lead roles in this electrifying production. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be a part of a cast that brings to life the music and message of this beloved show!

Ensemble Dance Auditions:

Audition Dates: 

· Friday, October 18th at 5:30 PM

· Saturday, October 19th at 3:00 PM

· Sunday, October 20th at 10:00 AM

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. During the audition, you will learn and perform choreography from the show. Each ensemble audition will last approximately 30 minutes.

Lead Role and Singing/Acting Auditions:

Audition Dates: 

· Saturday, October 19th from 3:30 PM

· Sunday, October 20th from 10:30 AM

Please prepare a ballad of your choice or a song from the character you are most interested in portraying. Additionally, you are required to perform a short monologue or poem. Bring your music on your iPhone.

PLEASE NOTE ALL LEAD ROLES NEED TO BOOK IN AN AUDITION TIME FOR THE DANCE ENSEMBLE AUDITION. THIS IS REQUIRED AS MOST LEAD ROLES ALSO DANCE/MOVE IN THE SHOW.

Callbacks will be held from Tuesday, October 22nd.

Rehearsal Schedule:

· Lead Roles & Ages 12 and Over: Saturdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with some additional Sunday rehearsals.

· Ages 11 and Under: Fridays from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, with the option to attend Saturday rehearsals at 3:00 PM if Fridays are not possible. There will be some additional Sunday rehearsals.

Note: There will be no rehearsals during the Christmas school holiday break. Rehearsals commence on Friday, October 25th.
