DISNEY’S THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. AUDITIONS

Welcome to the auditions for Davin Griffiths-Jones’ City Kids Theatre production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR.

We are so excited to begin casting this magical production and can’t wait to meet the talented young performers who will bring Ariel’s underwater world to life on stage.

ENSEMBLE AUDITIONS

Our ensemble auditions are fun, friendly and designed to give everyone the chance to show us their performance skills.

On the day, performers will take part in a short dance and movement audition, where they will learn choreography with the creative team and perform it in small groups. We are looking for energy, confidence, personality, musicality and performers who work well as part of an ensemble.

You do not need to prepare anything in advance for the ensemble audition.

Sunday 20 September 2026

9:30am–10:00am — Ages 7–12

10:00am–10:30am — Ages 13+

LEAD ROLE AUDITIONS

Welcome to the lead role auditions for Davin Griffiths-Jones’ City Kids Theatre production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR.

We are so excited to begin casting this incredible production and can’t wait to see Sydney’s talented young performers bring these much-loved characters to life.

For the first round of Lead Role Auditions, please prepare the following:

• ONE song from the list below to perform at your audition.
• ONE acting scene from the script attached below.

We know there are other featured characters in Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. that are not listed below. These roles will be considered and decided later in the casting process. If you are interested in another character, please still choose and prepare one song from the list below for your first-round audition.

All songs should be performed from memory. We encourage performers to show us not only their vocal ability, but also their personality, storytelling and interpretation of the character.

Please note that the creative team may stop a song before the end if we have heard everything we need. This does not reflect negatively on your audition.

Please note: All performers auditioning for lead roles must also register for a Dance Ensemble Audition, as all roles in the production involve movement and ensemble work.

KING TRITON

There is no nominated solo song for King Triton in the JR. production. If you are interested in King Triton, please choose one song from the list above for your first-round vocal audition. Acting and character work for King Triton will be assessed later in the casting process.

Performers should rehearse with the vocal guide tracks and be ready to audition using the backing track.

AUDITIONING FOR MORE THAN ONE ROLE

You are welcome to indicate your interest in more than one role.

For the first round, you only need to prepare one nominated audition song.

Please remember that you may be asked to attend a callback for a different role. This does not necessarily mean you are no longer being considered for the role you originally auditioned for. The creative team may wish to see performers for several different characters before final casting decisions are made.
